FULTON, Mo. — There was plenty of offense on Saturday night and some left over for early Sunday morning as the Earlham College baseball team completed a doubleheader sweep of Principia College to start the season.
The Quakers won the opener 20-5 and took the second contest 12-3. Both games were played at Westminster College.
Earlham broke a 5-5 tie with five runs in the sixth inning and added 10 more in the seventh. First-year Andrew Morrical (Summitville, IN/Madison-Grant) hit a two-run homer and a grand slam in the seventh, while first-year Corey Murray (Richmond, IN/Richmond) drilled a grand slam in the same inning. Junior Alex Anderson (Logansport, IN/Logansport) picked up the complete game win for the Quakers.
In second game, Earlham jumped out to a 7-0 advantage in the first inning and never looked back as junior Randy Kerns (West Manchester, OH/National Trail) tossed a complete game victory.
More details will be available on Monday, March 3.
